Simply, I do not require payment now. To participate in this Buy now / Prefer Pay later program --- To see the list and send order info - 2007 LIST **Please note.. when you pay with PAYPAL on the cart form or for an auction, PAYPAL WILL charge you asap. If you wish to have your Paypal account invoicec / billed in the fall - I suggest you provide your information and order using the Order Form on the website. It is a long form, but it will prevent PAYPAL billing your account now.** I do not accept Personal checks of any kind. In the fall.. about Late Oct / Nov.. I will either invoice your Paypal account / or charge your credit card for the funds required -- and at that time transmit the funds to China. I will be collecting only the funds for the plants, not the shipping. When the plants are ready to ship, I will then request payment for shipping fees. For the Program to work ---- You are required to have payment in before I send funds to China.. and have shipping fees paid prior to shipping plants to you .. and that is that. The reason! Save us all the hassle! Your credit card will not be charged months in advance, But Only when product is on the move. I also prefer not billing to Paypal until the funds are needed, as many Paypal accounts are also a drain on Credit cards. And who needs the credit card interest hassle. This also allows you time to make additional selections before the final list is sent to China in Early October. However, in fall, if Payment for plants or for the shipping fees are not secured, Plants will not ship. ******* I AM AN EBAY WINNER - Basically... as you have won previous auctions We will honor substitutions! As an Auction Winner you have the following Options: 1. You may Select any additional one or 2. You may Rebid on New Auctions at any time. WHERE TO PLANT Our tree peony tend to thrive in cool, dry and sunny places. The best choice for their cultivation is a dry and airy site on higher ground, with lateral shading, good drainage and deep porous fertile soil. Uncultivated or sticky or saline earth and poor drainage are best avoided. The ideal soil for planting in pots is also loose, fertile, well-aerated and well-drained. WHERE TO PLANT These are rated for zones 3-9. These do very well in California, north as well as southern. Tree peonies are not a fan of cold winds. They will do very well in protected areas. PLANTING After planting, examine plants carefully and remove, with sharp pruning shears any dead or weakened wood. Tree peonies are very hardy and do not require winter protection once established. They must be planted deeply into the ground, however. The first winter after planting, it is advisable to mulch them heavily with a light, airy material, as straw or marsh hay. You may wish to salt the tree peonies with mothballs to prevent rodent damage. Be sure other animals do not pick up the loose moth bait. As with other shrubs, feed with a balance food early each spring or in the very late fall, when leaves have dropped and plants have become dormant. Your tree peony, once satisfied with the location you have selected should flower in 2-3 years depending on your Zone. Enjoy! The Tree peonies arrived too late to plant -- the ground was frozen? I do provide alternate planting / winter holding methods. I have found the later the plants arrive, the better. As when the outside temps from China to here have dropped, the plants hold better, and there is less transportation mold, mildew, and moisture loss. If the crop comes into to late to plant, we can either hold your purchase here until spring, or you can wrap each individual plant in a newspaper cone filled with dry peat moss. Please keep the plants in a dry, cold area where the temps do not get greater than 30 degrees or colder than zero. In the spring, plant paper holding cone and all into the designated spot, and let them start up. We recommend planting just about when the daffodils are starting up. We found that if they come in too late, we will, upon your approval, hold them in our cold area and then ship in spring. This has proven to be a successful alternative, as our test plants have responded very well. Once the plants have established to your region for one year, you are good to go! What to look for in the Spring? If it has been a normal, wet snow winter, you should see leaves pop out when other trees bud. The leafing will erupt from the ground, not necessarily from the old tip buds. If it was a dry, drought snow winter, (cold and not much snow), leafing out maybe much later in the Spring. If they do not leaf out by the following September, there maybe damage. Damage may occur during the transport process from China or most likely damage occurring at your location. If you planted them in a very shade loving / or wet spot, the root will tend not to survive. If the plants do not leaf out, let me know in mid summer. If they leaf out only a little bit -- DO NOT DISTURB THE PLANT!!! In that case, they are acclimating to your region. Tree Peonies do not characteristically flower ASAP. They may take up to 5 years before they perform. Do not disturb the roots or the graft looking for some action! This will damage the plant and cause it to take longer to acclimate to your eco-system. Plant tree peonies like you would roses, yucca or even tulips; plant, mark the location, and walk away. I hope that they will do well for you. Look for new varieties each spring from us! WHAT IF THEY DO NOT DO ANYTHING? Each Fall I acquire extras that are planted out with my region as test plants. Each Fall is different, and Each Winter is too. By having a test plant, I can monitor how well they survive Winter, and leaf out in Spring. Some plants arrive in perfect condition, others maybe dry or have slight mold acquired during shipping and this will also affect their performance in Spring. The general rule is the first spring they may not perform to optimum as they adjust to your climate conditions. But they should leaf out a bit. But -- If you see no activity by summer of any kind, the plants maybe gone. In that case, the Chinese grower will give you another plant to try - FOR FREE! No matter what, do not disturb the plant in question. As in the following season, they may surprise you and start up. Tree peonies do not like it wet, and they do not like to be moved around. I got my plant and it has mold --- what should I do??? I recommend you flush the mold off with rubbing alcohol, and plant asap! What if you can't plant them when you receive them in the late Fall??? A really good suggestion is to plant them in a big deep Cardboard box or several sheets of newspaper that has been rolled into a temporary planting cone! WHAT IF I LIVE IN A REALLY COLD WIND REGION? We recommend, let us hold them for you until spring. Prepare an area that if possible does have a wind break, a temporary wind break. Plant in warm spring. Once the crop is climated, you will be good to go.
****Click Here for the List*** I RECEIVED MY PLANTS, PLANTED THEM AND NOTHING HAPPENED.. ARE THESE GUARANTEED? No one wants to go to all the effort to learn they have a dead plant. But sometimes it happens. Plants can be damaged in China during harvest, during packing and shipping from China, and even damaged by the Post Office upon delivery. Yes.. China stands behind their plants. China guarantees if there is a problem, they will send you a free replacement upon request. (the plant is free, the shipping / handling to receive it is not.) China will not issue any sort of cash refund. If your plant fails to leaf out by the first summer after planting, China will accept your request for a replacement.
